ABOUT

DR. ANNE GUNDRY
I love teaching. I especially love teaching AP Biology.

I embarked upon my educational journey when I was selected for the Resident Honors Program at USC. I transfered to UCLA where I graduated with a B.A. in Biology. I attended the Medical College of Pennsylvania becoming an M.D. with a special addition of Humanities Scholar for the extra work I did pioneering the school's bioethics program. MCP is now under the auspices of Drexel University so I guess by default, I am a Bruin-Dragon doctor! After completing my internship and residency in Internal Medicine at St. Mary Medical Center, I joined the Harriman Jones Medical Group where I had a thriving practice in Internal Medicine for over a decade.

I became the mother of two children both of whom later graduated from Poly High School (PACE and CIC programs). When they were little and I was still in a busy practice, I realized that I didn't have children to let someone else raise them. I "retired" to be a full-time mother. As they children entered into the public school system, I began volunteering in the classrooms, often giving science lessons to the children. I loved it. I obtained my teaching credential at CSULB and began teaching AP Biology at Poly HS in 2004. I am also a National Board Certified Teacher.

In my spare time, I enjoy reading reading mysteries and science fiction, learning new things about science, acting in plays/musicals, and playing with my Australian Cattle Dog, Zippy.
